4. Membership of Regulatory or Self-Regulatory Bodies
Tapnet Solutions is not a member of any industry self-regulatory body, and TradeJournal is not subject to any sector-specific code of conduct.
Tapnet Solutions is not a registered Financial Services Provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002, because TradeJournal is a record-keeping and analytics tool and does not render financial services. See Section 7 below.
5. Description of the Services
TradeJournal is a web-based subscription journaling and analytics application for forex traders. Users manually log their own trades, tag them, add notes and screenshots, and review retrospective performance statistics based on the data they entered. Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are shown exclusive of VAT. VAT at the prevailing rate (15% at the date of this page) will be added once Tapnet Solutions is registered as a VAT vendor with SARS. All amounts are the total payable to Tapnet Solutions. There are no additional delivery charges for a digital service.
7. Payment Methods and Timing
A payment processor has not yet been integrated into TradeJournal. When we do integrate one (expected to be Stripe, Paystack or a comparable PCI-DSS-compliant provider), accepted payment methods will be disclosed at checkout. No payment card data will be stored on our servers. Subscriptions are paid in advance.
8. Time of Delivery and Service Commencement
The Services are digital and delivered immediately upon successful payment and account creation. By subscribing you expressly consent to the service beginning immediately, and you waive the seven-day cooling-off right under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act for the current billing cycle. This is permitted under section 44(4)(a) of that Act.
9. Cancellation, Returns and Refunds
- Monthly plans - you can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No early-termination fee is charged.
- Annual plans - annual purchases are single-term and do not auto-renew. You retain access for the full 12 months you paid for. If you wish to terminate early, contact us - we will assess a pro-rata refund in good faith, subject to the limitations in our Terms.
- Returns - the Services are digital, so no physical returns apply.
- Refunds - if we materially fail to deliver the Services for an extended period, contact privacy@tradejournal.co.za for a pro-rata refund request.
- Account deletion is available in Settings → Account → Delete Account, which permanently removes your personal information in accordance with our Data Retention Policy.
10. Security and Privacy
Our security measures, including TLS encryption, row-level security, encrypted storage, password hashing and rate limiting, are described on our Security page. How we collect, use, share and retain your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. Processing operators (Supabase, Vercel) are listed on our Operator Agreements page.
11. Not a Financial Services Provider
Tapnet Solutions is not licensed under FAIS
12. Alternative Dispute Resolution
Tapnet Solutions is not currently registered with any independent alternative-dispute-resolution body for electronic transactions. Disputes between you and Tapnet Solutions will be handled in accordance with the dispute-resolution clause in our Terms of Service (good-faith negotiation, then mediation, then arbitration in Pretoria). You may also refer consumer-law complaints to the National Consumer Commission.
